Ingrid Nord has been creating in glass since 2000. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Glass from Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland, in 2005. From 2001 till 2006 she also undertook several placements in glass studios in Norway, Australia and Scotland. In 2006 Ingrid took part in a summer course at Pilchuck Glass School, Seattle.

Her work is created mainly in Blown Glass, using a variety of cold working techniques, such as cutting, engraving and sandblasting. She has specialized in graphic art on glass. In her sculptures she explores the conflict and relationship between shape, line, texture and image.

Ingrid received several prices for her "Urban life" series in 2005. In 2007 she was selected for two juried exhibitions : "Young Glass" in Denmark and "Triennalen" in Oslo.

Her glass objects from this series contain images of urbanity. She uses few but strongly defined lines. Her images from the urban landscape are recreated in a simplified manner. “By depicting cityscapes that changes into patterns of shadow and bright highlights, I have tried to capture the noise and movement in a structured and organized landscape. The repetitions of lines and squares are creating an atmosphere of organized chaos.”
